History of DSSI
In 1992, the idea for DSSI was born. A select group of and driven individuals brought together their knowledge of technology and long term care procurement to develop the first electronic purchasing system for the profession.
By 1993, a name was created for this effort—DSSI. With the help of a willing provider and supply chain partner, and after nearly two years of development, DSSI processed its first order in April 1995. DSSI was operational, and would revolutionize the way the profession does business.
As 1996 began, the Internet was just starting to transform the world, and DSSI immediately recognized the power of this new medium. DSSI was now on the so-called “bleeding edge” of eCommerce, pushing procurement and reporting solutions online with the largest health care providers and supply chain partners.
From that point, DSSI has always remained focused on the goal of Taking Cost Out of Health Care®. We have continued to invest resources in the latest technologies to find new ways to streamline operations and reduce costs for the profession.
Today, the DSSI Network is the largest, fastest growing, and most powerful eBusiness network in health care. Working closely with health care providers and supply chain partners, DSSI continues to build cutting edge systems that help to find new ways to lower costs, strengthen partnerships and improve outcomes for the profession.
DSSI is ready for the future. We are committed to providing outrageous service, to being a strong partner, and to being the leader in providing innovative solutions for our customers.
